Sir Roger Scruton FBA FRSL (1944-2020) was a writer and philosopher who published more than forty books in philosophy, aesthetics, and politics. His work has been translated into dozens of languages. He was a Fellow of the British Academy and the Royal Society of Literature. Scruton most recently served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Oxford, a Senior Fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, and the director of the philosophy graduate programme at the University of Buckingham.
