Support the recording and release of Stephen Limbaugh’s America250 Symphony, created to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary.
In celebration of the United States of America’s upcoming semiquincentennial, composer Stephen N. Limbaugh III has written a new 28-minute symphony that reflects the American civic experience through beauty, memory, and renewal. The Roger Scruton Legacy Foundation is partnering with Limbaugh to professionally record and release the work in 2026, making it freely available to audiences across the country as a civic gift.
Structured in four movements and rooted in traditional symphonic form, the A250 Symphony draws on folk, indigenous, and classical idioms, extending the lineage of Dvořák, Copland, and Gershwin among others, while offering a contemporary American voice.
About the Composer
Stephen N. Limbaugh III is a composer and concert pianist. Limbaugh’s compositions have been recorded by the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra and Valentina Lisitsa. His debut album, Pants, was the top-selling album of contemporary concert music on the Billboard Classical charts in 2014. As a solo pianist, his engagements include the Golden Globes, Emmys, the White House, the Missouri State Bicentennial, and the Nashville Scoring Orchestra. Limbaugh parlayed his success as a performer and composer into writing the musical scores for films, the latest of which, The Beldham, stars Patricia Heaton. He is an immersive audio enthusiast that recently completed a piano concerto composed specifically for this emerging medium. Stephen is the son of federal judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr. of the 8th Circuit Eastern District, and cousin of the late talk radio king Rush Limbaugh.
